- 1 large egg + 1 egg yolk
- 2½ teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2½ cups (350g) all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ¾ teaspoon fine sea salt

- ½ cup semisweet chocolate chips
- Chopped nuts like walnuts or pecans

Instructions
- Prepare the Oven:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone baking mats.
- Mix Wet Ingredients:
- In a large bowl, melt butter and mix it with brown sugar and salt until smooth.
- Beat in the egg, egg yolk, and vanilla extract until fully incorporated.
- Combine Dry Ingredients:
- In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Shape the Dough:
- Use a cookie scoop or ¼ cup measuring scoop to form dough balls. Place them on the prepared baking sheets, leaving space between each cookie.
- Bake:
- Bake for 9–11 minutes, rotating the pans halfway through for even baking. The cookies are done when the edges are golden brown.
- Cool and Serve:
- Let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
